About Shanxi Normal University
Shanxi Normal University (SXNU) is a public university in Linfen, Shanxi, China. It was founded in 1958 as a teacher training school, and has since developed into a comprehensive university with a focus on humanities and social sciences. SXNU has three campuses in Linfen, covering an area of about 180 hectares, with modern facilities and abundant greenery. SXNU upholds the motto of “Be Prudent and Discerning, Seek Truth and Apply It”, and strives to become a high-level normal university that cultivates talents with moral, intellectual, physical, and aesthetic qualities.
SXNU has 22 schools and departments, offering 61 undergraduate programs, 23 graduate disciplines, 2 doctorate disciplines and 2 post-doctoral mobile stations. These programs cover nine discipline categories, such as economics, philosophy, the science of law, literature, history, science, engineering and others, with a total of 10 academic disciplines. SXNU has a strong faculty team of over 1,200 members, including 800 full-time teachers, 300 professors and associate professors, and 200 doctoral and master’s degree holders. SXNU also has a large student body of over 16,000 full-time undergraduate students and 3,500 graduate students.
SXNU has achieved remarkable results in scientific research and social service. It has undertaken over 1,000 scientific research projects at various levels, published over 4,000 academic papers and 100 books, and obtained over 200 patents and awards. SXNU has also established extensive cooperation and exchange with over 40 universities and institutions from more than 20 countries and regions, such as the United States, Canada, Australia, Japan, South Korea, Germany, France, and Hong Kong.
